Angel Walk

An angel took a walk one day

To catch the world at work and play,

And spotting Age, he waved a hand

And said, “Tell me how your day is planned.”

Age said, “I’m just walking slow,

No real place I need to go,

Nothing matters any more,

No one needs me like before.”

The angel turned his head away

Not knowing just what he should say,

And finally said with certain grief,

“I’m sorry for your sad belief.”

Walking on, the angel met

A woman he could not forget,

Her face was tense, and he could tell

She talked with anger on her cel.

“Can’t you see I’m busy now,

Are you simply blind somehow?

There’s no time for stupid chatter,

Nothing else but work can matter.”

The angel watched her walk away,

Feeling somewhat drained

Until he saw a little boy

Who cried and just complained.

“What is it,” Angel ran to ask,

“What’s making you yell so?”

The boy looked up and stared at him

As tears began to flow.

“My grandpa doesn’t understand

How much I need his care,

And my mother simply works all day

And has no time to share.

But I can still remember God,

And the message He made clear,

And I’m yelling so I won’t forget

It’s God who sent me here.

He loves me in a great big way,

And loves the whole world too,

And He sent me here to yell out loud

So His message would get through.”

The angel couldn’t help it then,

He bowed in humble joy,

God’s message was alive and well

Inside this little boy!

Let’s shout out loud and keep the message of God’s love alive and well for each other today.

Blessings to you,

Karen
