As the author of over 115 books, including many devotionals, of which nine are dailies, I feel called to invite more of you to join me in the morning hours and share special time with God. I call the time I spend each morning Jesus time because I always invite Him in to be with me, inspire my heart and guide my steps.

Today I want to reach out to you and give you a devotional moment to start your day. I will post one  as often as I can so we can do this together. I look forward to sharing this special time with you.

Time is fleeting and often we don’t regard it with intention. We may not even have a good sense of words like permanent and forever. Those seem to be outside of the reality of time because for us, everything changes. Perhaps that is one reason we struggle with the timelessness of God. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We agree with the idea, but it’s still somewhat outside our grasp.

Psalm 90:1-2 says that the Lord is our help and that He’s been our help from one generation to the next. It says that even before the mountains were born or the earth breathed life, God existed. In fact, He existed forever in the past, to forever in the future, God exists. He exists and He is our continual help through every trial and circumstance. He is not surprised by the events that stir our lives. Norman Vincent Peale suggested that we embrace God’s help in this way. “Almighty God will be your companion, will stand by you, help you, and see you through. No other idea is so powerful in developing self-confidence as this simple belief when practiced. To practice it simply affirm, ‘God is with me; God is helping me; God is guiding me.’ Spend several minutes each day visualizing His presence. Then practice believing that affirmation.”

God is our help, but He waits for an invitation from us to come in and guide our lives. Ask for His help, believing He will answer, and that He walks beside you right now.

May He bless you with all good things according to His grace and mercy.
