Ephesians 1:18 says, “I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope He has given to those He called–His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance.”
As you rise each morning, you may not immediately embrace the idea of getting your glow on. After all, you reconnect with the world a step at a time. You wake up gradually, starting out on low beam.
After you’ve scrubbed away the night and had your favorite morning beverage, you’re a little brighter. You can focus on what’s next. It’s possible that this is the point where you give God a passing nod as you head out the door, get your motor running, and move on with the day. After all, the highway of life awaits and you’ve got important things to do. The problem is that your parking lights might still be on.
Waking up to all that God has for you means you’ve got to give Him a chance to step into your routine. You have to invite Him to be part of what you are planning to do before you ever leave the house. When you pull up a chair for Jesus, read a little scripture, and look for His direction and advice, the light comes on. Your Eternal Power Source reminds you that you don’t have to go it alone. Help is just a prayer away.
Then it happens! Your heart is flooded with light, and hope rises to meet you face to face. You find your glow! The One who called you by name, knows you intimately, and loves you enormously offers you confidence and grace every day. You light up the world wherever you go.
Wake up, dear one, to the glorious sunshine meant for you.
