I have a new book in the works that will come out sometime next year with Broadstreet Publishers. It’s called Prayers to Strengthen Your Soul.
I hope the book will inspire readers to recognize that nothing on earth separates them from the love of God. Psalm 73:26 says, “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” You know, when you’ve been given a portion of something and it lasts forever, it means you always have it with you, and you can trust that God’s portions are King-sized.
Here’s the prayer:
Dear Lord,
I was working hard, jumping through hoops, keeping just ahead of the bills, watching my children grow, and then everything stopped! Bam! One difficulty became another until they slammed into each other and simply piled up on my doorstep. I am overwhelmed by the chaos and have lost my sense of direction. Nothing is working right, and I did not see any of this coming.
I have more questions than answers. I am discouraged, but not broken. I am weary, but still ready to listen for Your voice. Despite the mess in front of me, I believe You have a plan and You will be my strength and portion. I’m not the only one though, Lord. People everywhere are in difficult situations, losing jobs, losing loved ones. We’re pressed on every side by circumstances we did not create.
We draw near to you because we know You are bigger than anything that comes our way. You see the difficulties and the obstacles and the pain. You see that we need hope and possibility. That’s why today and always, we put our faith and our trust in You.
Lead us on to a brighter day.
