It appears that love has gone missing!
Some say, “good riddance,” because any excuse to cast love into the darkness and act with violence and hatred works for them. Others say, love just disappoints them, seldom living up to their expectations, so they are better off without it anyway.
Troubled ones search the Internet for like-minded rabble rousers who define justice in terms they endorse, and so they grow bolder. Maybe together they can squelch this thing called love and just live in desperate misery.
So, maybe it’s best to lock up love and throw away the key.
Or maybe not!
What happened to love? Nothing!
Love is still there and it’s there for everybody.
It grows cold when it has been bullied and beaten and provoked by those who simply cannot understand it. It fades. When love suffers; everyone suffers.
As Bob Hope once said, “If you haven’t any charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart trouble.”
How do we know love lives on? We know because each person with a broken heart still clings to it. Each one who believes in God, still hopes for it. Anyone who longs for good to prevail keeps its flame burning. Love isn’t looking for pretenders, or those who insist on their own way. It’s looking for openness, generosity, and the face of forgiveness. It’s looking for opportunity to spread the light and embrace that thing called happiness.
Let’s bring love home again and open the door to a “Love” revival. It’s time to love your neighbor as yourself.
Be the reason love is thriving wherever you are.
