We’ve had a lot of snow here in Ohio and that means we’ve been inside quite a bit. About this time of year, I start to need to be reenergized and so I thought I’d share a piece from my devotional that comes out this week on Amazon called He Restores My Soul! I hope it brightens your day and renews your spirit. You are all such a blessing to me. I hope you enjoy this adapted piece from the new book.

Jeremiah 32:27, NKJV says, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?”

Sometimes we try to help God along. Our prayers are not as much about surrendering to let God’s will be done, as they are apt to give God suggestions about how He might handle our troubles. It’s a natural thought, perhaps even one that makes God smile, but it may not get the result we hope for. Maybe we’d be better off if we reflected on the question God put to Jeremiah. “Is there anything too hard for Me?”

It’s not a trick question. You know the answer. Nothing is too hard for God to handle. So what does that mean for you? Perhaps it means to give in and truly let God handle your sticky life situations.  When you do, you get to put your concerns in God’s hand and leave them there. You don’t even have to leave some of your problems stuck to your fingers so you can take care of them yourself. You open your heart to God, let your troubles roll off your sagging shoulders and cast them on the only One who can truly carry them. After all, He’s carried the weight of the world for generations.

This is your day to let God be God. Draw near to Him and share your deepest concerns and then go forward in total trust that He will do all He can to help. When you do, you’ll feel a little lighter, your energy will be restored, and your heart will no longer be troubled. You’re sure to feel better right away.

Nothing feels better than giving God the chance to lighten your load. He’s there for you right now. Turn to Him and let Him restore your soul. He knows exactly what you need.
