I thought I’d begin September with one of my own prayer stories. It happened a few years ago when I was going through a particularly difficult time. I was scarcely able to find the ends, much less make them meet, and I often asked Jesus to walk with me in prayer. Those prayers were ones that played out like little video clips, but always gave me a message. Here’s the visual moment I experienced.

I was walking along the water’s edge on a beach that stretched for miles. As I walked along, I realized that Jesus was coming toward me, pulling something behind Him, though I couldn’t see what it was. I grew expectant and excited as we approached each other. He gave me a smile and I instantly knew He had come to help me with my financial worries. I was just starting to grasp that idea when suddenly out of nowhere, someone ran across the sand, and grabbed the Radio Flyer wagon that Jesus had been pulling in my direction. It was full of money.

Bewildered, I stopped abruptly, and stuffed back my tears. I said that I thought He was bringing that wagon to me, and I was so upset that someone else had taken what I was supposed to receive. Jesus was compassionate and understood immediately why I felt concerned. Then, He smiled and stepped aside, looking back so that I could see what was behind Him. There I saw wagon after wagon of God’s provision. The beach was littered with Radio Flyer wagons.

Jesus looked back at me and said, “No one ever has to steal from God. He gladly provides for His children.”

We hugged each other then and I was totally filled with peace. I’m sure my financial concerns didn’t just disappear, but I also know that I was comforted, and have ever since, realized that when I’m in a tight financial space, I can be sure there’s a Radio Flyer wagon somewhere out there, that is getting ready to come in. This prayer has helped me my whole life and I hope it blesses you as well. God sees us and knows what we need. He hears our prayers and listens to the concerns of our hearts. The things He can do are way beyond our imaginations.

I pray that He meets you right where you are today and provides for all your needs. Just ask Him to meet you at the beach.
