As a fan of the Mission: Impossible movies, I’ve watched Ethan Hunt go through one death-defying moment after another.
No matter how scary things get, he manages to pull off his task. I kind of envy that sometimes because in the real world, even my everyday missions can feel impossible.
They feel that way, but they aren’t, and here’s why.
Why It’s Still Possible
As a believer, you’ve been equipped with unique talents to pull off the job you’re intended to do. You aren’t likely to have to stop a nuclear explosion,
but your mission is every bit as important as that. Your mission is a matter of life and death. You are meant to hold up the light so others can realize that God is there.
The adversary in your mission is more deadly than anything Ethan Hunt will ever face.
You may wonder if anything makes a difference in a world that seems poised for destruction, where human beings fail miserably, causing only despair.
If it was all up to you, you’d have reason to wonder, but it’s not all in your hands. You are just one, but one tied to God is a majority.
If you wonder what might still be possible for you, check your skills and talents as they are today. Check your willingness to move forward. Let God know you’re ready to sign up with Him again,
to take on the next mission. The enemy is cringing in the darkness hoping you won’t show up.
Ethan Hunt’s team may disavow his actions if he’s caught, but your team will always be right there with you. Your call will not self-destruct in five seconds.
It’s the work of eternity and nothing can stop you now.
With God, all things are possible!
