The NCV version of Psalm 23 starts this way. It says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need.” Do you remember the last time you truly felt content, blessed to be able to say, “I have everything I need?” The psalmist gives us a significant clue to this genuine sense of peace […]
Recently I was coming home on a flight from Chicago, having visited my children in Ohio. After we landed, the pilot said the usual things about how happy he was we had chosen to fly with the airline, and then when he finished, he said, “Be kind to each other out there.” For some reason, […]
Remember the old flash cameras that gave you momentary blindness after the photo was taken? You had to blink a few times to get those yellow circles to stop distorting your vision. Other things can distort your vision too. You can be blinded by the bright lights of an oncoming motor vehicle. You have […]

One of my more recent books is called, Got 10 Minutes…for God? Since I write devotional books for a living, it occurred to me that some people may not even know the purpose behind doing daily devotions. In fact, they might not even know what the word “devotions” means. After all, everybody’s busy! What can […]
Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32, NLT The part of the Lord’s Prayer that we might find a bit tricky is that section that asks God to “forgive us as we forgive others.” The language is loftier than this phrase, but […]
